Watching the infusion of Avatar and tribal inspired everything into mainstream is fascinating. Headdress, wolves, huntress, desert scenes, African jewelry....its all right here. I wish Kelis had more of a storm inside of her to backup this incredibly styled shoot. She seems almost uncomfortable at times and not fully into it, I just want to say to her "girl, where's your milkshake?" The lip syncing is also painful to watch. Damn, such a waste of a beautiful music video.

I saw this video when it first came out, and although she seems to have taken quite literal inspiration from some top fashion designers THIS VIDEO IS FUCKING BRILLIANT. I'm going to see her perform in a couple of weeks here in London, and I cannot wait! x
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you on this one - FABULOUS video and I do like Kelis, but she always seems kind of lacklustre. I wish she would rock out a bit more!

yep, Kelis aint got the conviction to pull this off! shame ive always like kelis, undoubtedly the vid is fabulash, she just doesnt look geniune...

Agreed she doesn't have the fiesty character required to make this concept achieve its potential.
